ABOUT
Małopolska is one of the most visually rich regions in Poland, combining accessible natural landscapes with strong historical identity. The region offers a rare mix of gentle plains and dramatic mountain scenery, making it highly adaptable for different cinematic worlds.
Its locations have successfully doubled for international settings, from Bosnia to Spain and even Kashmir. With Kraków at its centre, Małopolska blends authentic heritage with contemporary life, creating a visually layered and versatile filming environment.
02
LOCATIONS
The region offers an exceptional variety of locations, including the limestone formations of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, mountain landscapes of the Tatra range, caves, forests, and open countryside. Historic cities like Kraków provide preserved architecture with a strong European character, while smaller towns, villages, castles, and ruins add further depth. The diversity and accessibility of locations allow filmmakers to move efficiently between drastically different visual settings within short distances.
03
Production Support
Krakow Film Commission supports productions across all stages, from location scouting to permits and coordination with local authorities and services. The region offers financial support through the Krakow Film Fund, supporting feature films, series, and other audiovisual projects. Małopolska combines strong production infrastructure with experienced crews and a well-established filming ecosystem. Productions filmed in the region include Vinci 2 (2025), Simona Kossak (2024), Za duży na bajki 2 (2024), Biała odwaga (2024), Kos (2023), and Tama (2023). The combination of diverse locations and institutional support makes the region highly attractive for both local and international productions.
