ABOUT
Gdynia is a modern coastal city with a strong identity shaped by its maritime character and contemporary urban planning. Built in the 20th century, it stands out with its modernist architecture, open spaces, and close connection to the sea.
The city combines a clean, structured urban layout with a relaxed seaside atmosphere, offering a distinctive visual language that differs from historic Polish cities. Gdynia is also an important cultural hub, closely connected to the Polish film industry through major events and institutions.

LOCATIONS
Gdynia offers a unique combination of seaside and urban locations. The coastline includes beaches, cliffs, promenades, and marina infrastructure, all easily accessible within the city. Its modernist architecture provides a versatile backdrop for contemporary stories, while the port, shipyards, and industrial areas add a raw, maritime edge. The city is part of the Tricity area, giving productions quick access to additional locations in nearby Gdańsk and Sopot, expanding the visual range within a compact region.

Production Support
Gdynia Film Fund, operating within the Gdynia Film Center, supports audiovisual productions through regional funding schemes. The fund focuses on projects that are connected to the city or region and contributes to the development of both feature films and smaller formats. In addition to financial support, filmmakers benefit from a well-organised local film environment and proximity to industry infrastructure. Gdynia’s strong link to the film community, including hosting the Polish Film Festival, further strengthens its position as a production-friendly city.
